Özet
In the article entitled “Hyaluronic acid injection in glans penis for treatment of premature ejaculation: a randomized controlled cross-over study”, Alahwany et al. [1] presented data from a randomized controlled crossover study that has investigated the effect of hyaluronic acid (HA) injection into the glans penis to treat premature ejaculation (PE). The rationale behind this treatment approach is that the injected HA filler forms a barrier between the skin and the dorsal nerve branches, reducing tactile stimuli. Given that HA is biodegradable, HA injection will not result in permanent sexual dysfunction. The efficacy and safety of HA injection for PE treatment have been confirmed by several studies [2,3,4,5]. However, the findings of those studies cannot be generalized due to their uncontrolled design and their use of nonvalidated questionnaires for assessment.
