Paleolitik Çağ’da hammadde kullanımı örneği: Aksaray Armutlu kaynakları

Aksaray İli ve çevresinde 2015-2019 yılları arasında gerçekleştirilen Paleolitik Çağ konulu yüzey araştırmalarında önemli sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Bu sonuçlardan bir tanesi 2018 yılında Armutlu Kasabası çevresinde keşfedilen taş kaynaklarıdır. Bu kaynaklar, Paleolitik Çağ sürecinde yontmataş alet yapımı için tercih edildikleri için detaylı şekilde incelenmişlerdir. Bu çalışmada hem arkeolojik hem de jeolojik analizler yer almaktadır. Taş kaynaklarının yontmataş alet yapımında tercih edilebilmeleri için yontulduklarında keskin kenar vermeleri ve ince taneli bir yapıda olmaları gerekir. Bu tanıma uygun olan çok sayıda taş türü vardır fakat detaylı bilgi içeren örnek sayısı azdır. Bu nedenle yontmataş yapımında kullanılan taş kaynaklarının jeokimyasal olarak da incelenmesi ve değerlendirilmesi önem arz etmektedir. Bu bağlamda söz konusu alanda yer alan tüm kaynaklar arkeolojik ve jeolojik olarak sınıflandırılarak analiz sonuçlarıyla birlikte ortaya konulmuştur. Bu sayede ileride bu tarzda yapılacak olan çalışmalar için de bir örnek teşkil edecektir.

Stone resources are of great importance in the production of chipped stone tools. It is necessary to determine the factors that are effective in the selection of chipped stone raw material resources and to reveal the results of this selection. In order to make detailed analyzes of chipped stone raw material resources, first of all, geological analyzes of the resources should be made. The geochemical analyzes included in these analyzes will reveal the general characteristics of the chipped stone raw material resources. In this way, the effect of the mineralogical properties of the stone on the chipped stone tool production can be understood. In addition, when the archaeological reflections of the sources used for chipped stone production are included in the research, the results will be an important step towards creating a general assessment. In this context, Armutlu chipped stone raw material resources, which were found during the Paleolithic Age surveys carried out in and around Aksaray Province in 2018, were revealed together with the results of the archaeological and geological analysis. This study method will set an example for similar research in other fields in the future.
