| dc.description.abstract | In this study, numerical simulation was used to determine the light scattering of crude oil and petroleum products with different purities or qualities. In particular, by assuming the cylindrical container as the boundary condition, the light scattering distribution curves with different absorbency and dielectric parameters were shown. It was found that the scattered intensity versus size parameter curves have different features for samples with different dielectric constants and the smoothness of the curve was modulated by the absorbency of the sample which characterizes the impurity of the samples. In the cylindrical model designed for numerical calculations, standard distributions were obtained according to the calculated light intensities for different absorbed and non-absorbed media. | |
