Although earthquakes are natural phenomena, they deeply affect the history of cities and countries. Today, Çankırı, which is located in places with first and second-degree earthquake risk, has been exposed to many earthquakes in historical periods as it is nowadays. It has been determined that 20 earthquakes occurred in the period of twentyfive years covering the years between 1875-1900. These include mild earthquakes as well as earthquakes that cause damage and loss of life, and aftershocks continue for days. During the said period, Çankırı experienced its biggest earthquake on September 28, 1881 in terms of damage and casualties. In this article, in the Çankırı and its districts, earthquakes that occurred in the last quarter of the century of XIX, were handled using archival documents, newspapers, and existing literature of the period; It has been tried to contribute to both the Ottoman natural disasters literature and the history and seismicity of Çankırı by revealing the frequency and magnitude of earthquakes in the region and the studies carried out after the disasters.
