Who Should Provide Education For Entrepreneurship? An Evaluation Of Government-Led Entrepreneurship Education Programs In Turkey

Özet
The aim of this study is to evaluate the state-dominant position ofentrepreneurship education in Turkey and to reveal whether the government institutionswhich mainly carry out entrepreneurship education provide expected economic andsocial outputs. Within this scope; by using phenomenology design, a qualitativeresearch was carried out with 44 professional and experts who are informed inentrepreneurship ecosystem in Turkey. In addition, a survey with 111 participantsamong attendants of KOSGEB Applied Entrepreneurship Education and a qualitativeresearch with 12 of these trainees was performed in order to examine the data obtainedfrom quantitative research in depth as well. As a result of the research, it has been foundout that the success of the government efforts is suspicious in entrepreneurshipeducation regarding to the intended results and that the role of non-governmental andprivate institutions in entrepreneurship education should be more efficient.
