Özet
Taşkınpaşa (Nevşehir) yöresinde yüzeylenen geç Miyosen-Pliyosen yaşlı volkanosedimenter birimler içerisinde yer alan diyatomitlerin diyatom topluluğu ve paleoortamsal özelliklerini incelemek için Taşkınpaşa yöresinden ölçülen stratigrafik kesitten derlenen örneklerden 18 cinse ait 21 diyatom türü tanımlanmıştır. Tanımlanan türler içerisinde pennat formların, sentrik formlara göre daha bol olduğu ve göl suyunun tatlı su özelliğinde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Tanımlanan diyatom cins ve türlerinin derlenen örneklerdeki sayısal dağılımlarının değerlendirilmesi sonucunda; Taşkınpaşa yöresi diyatomitlerinin oluşumu sırasında göldeki su seviyesinin düşük olduğu, başlangıçta göl tabanının çamurlu, daha sonra ise bitkilerle kaplı olduğu, göl suyunun başlangıçta oligotrofik özellikte olduğu, zaman içerisinde önce ötrofik daha sonra da mesotrofik özellik kazandığı, besin miktarının ölçülü kesitin taban ve üst seviyelerinde yüksek, orta seviyelerinde ise orta düzeyde olduğu, pH değerinin pH >7 şeklinde (bazik) olduğu ve oksijen oranının orta seviyede bulunduğu belirlenmiştir.
Twenty-one diatom species of 18 genera were identified from the samples which were collected from stratigraphic section in Taşkınpaşa (Nevşehir) area which is taken places in late Miocene-Pliocene aged volcanosedimentary units. It was determined that pennate forms are more abundant than centric forms within the defined species and the lake water has fresh water properties in this location. As a result of the quantitative evaluation of the identified diatom genera and species distributions in the collected samples; it have been determined that, in Taşkınpaşa area, during the formation of the diatomite deposits, lake water’s level was low, the bottom of the lake was initially muddy later covered with plants, lake water was initially in oligotrophic properties later changed into eutrophic and mesotrophic characteristics in time, the nutrient ratio of lake water was high in bottom and upper levels of the section but it was moderate at the middle level of the section. The lake water indicates alkaline (pH >7) properties. Oxygen ratio of the lake water was in middle level.
