Abstract
Mizah, komiklik, eğlenme, komik olma aynı zamanda farklı açıdan eleştirme aracı olarak kullanılan bir davranış şekli olarak bilinmektedir. Katılımcı mizah, kendini geliştirici mizah, saldırgan mizah ve kendini yıkıcı mizah olarak dört farklı çeşidi bulunmaktadır. Problem çözme ise kişilerin çevresindeki problemlerin farkına varması ile başlayan ve çözüm bulununcaya kadar devam eden bir süreçtir. Bu süreçte kişi yaşantısındaki engelleri ortadan kaldırarak mesleki ve kişisel yaşamında amacına ulaşmaya çalışır. Problem çözme süreci uygun metotla, esnek ve etkili bir şekilde yapılmalıdır. Önemli olan problemlerden kaçmayı değil de onlarla mücadele etmeyi ve yeni çözümler bulmayı hedeflemektir. Yapılan çalışmada, kamu ve özel sektörde çalışan ofis personelinin mizah tarzları ve problem çözme becerileri ile demografik özellikler arasındaki ilişki araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada daha öncesinden hazırlanmış ve ölçeklendirilmiş mizah tarzları ve problem çözme becerileri ölçekleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma tesadüfi olmayan örnekleme yöntemi kullanılarak kamu ve özel sektörde çalışan büro personellerinden veriler alınmış ve analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda büro personellerinin mizah tarzları ve problem çözme becerileri algılarının demografik özelliklere göre farklılaştığı sonucuna varılmıştır.
The humor is known a pattern of behavior which is used as an instrument for funniness, amusement, being funny as well as being an instrument to criticize from different point of view. There are four different types of humor such as participant humor, self-developing humor, aggressive humor and self-destroying humor. Problem solving is a process which begins when the individuals realize the problems around themselves and continues until a solution is found for them. During this process, the individual tries to achieve the goals in his vocational and personal life through eliminating the obstacles. The problem solving process should be executed through a convenient method and in a flexible and effective manner. More importantly, it is to aim struggling with problems and find new solutions rather than avoiding them. In the conducted study, the relationship between the humor styles and problem solving abilities of the office staff working in public and private sector and their demographic characteristics was analyzed. The scales of humor styles and problem solving abilities which were previously prepared and scaled were employed in the study. Non-random sample method was employed in the research and data was obtained and analyzed from the office staff who works in public and private enterprises. In consequence of the analysis, it was concluded that the humor style of the office staff and their perceptions for problem solving abilities differentiated according to their demographic characteristics.
