Recently, there has been a notable interest in mesoporous silica nanostructures (MSNs) owing to their highly advantageous structural characteristics. MSNs possess significant characteristics, including a substantial internal surface area and pore volume, adjustable pore sizes, excellent colloidal stability, and the ability to modify the functionality of both the internal pore system and external particle surface. Due to these significant characteristics, MSNs have emerged as a highly up-and-coming and extensively adaptable platform for biomedical implementations. MSNs have attracted significant attention in the field of integrated nanocomposite systems due to their remarkable properties, such as low cytotoxicity, excellent chemical stability, and having an easily modifiable surface. In this book chapter, we discussed some silica structures, their properties, designs, and the importance of silica structures for biomedical applications, and also touched upon their applications in the biomedical field in recent years. And also, in addition to the MCM-41, SBA-15, FDU, and KIT series structures, which are silica-based nanostructures, different silica nanostructures are also mentioned. Also, current studies are included, especially those that have been carried out in recent years.
