Abstract
Türkiye’nin ilk milli bankası olan Ziraat Bankası’nın tarihi ülkenin son iki asırda yaşadığı ekonomik ve sosyal değişimlere ışık tutmaktadır. Banka 1908 yılında geçmiş yirmi yıla ait verileri de içeren bir kesin hesap özeti yayınlamıştır. Bu belgede bankanın sermayesi, kredi ve tevdiat işlemleri, alacakları, nakit pozisyonu, eğitime, ulaşıma ve Hazine’nin finansmanına katkısı, diğer kuruluşlarla ilişkisi ayrıntılı olarak ele alınmıştır. Bu çalışma ilgili belgeyi inceleyerek muhasebe ve finans tarihi alanına bir katkı sağlamayı amaçlamaktadır.
The history of Ziraat Bank that was the first national bank of Turkey until 20th century sheds light on country’s economic and social evolution process in the last two century. The Bank had published a summary of final account ın the year of 1908 which included some data belongs to last twenty years. In this document, bank’s capital, credit and deposit operations, receivables, cash position, its contribution to education, transportation and financing Treasury, transactions with other institutions had been approached detailed. This study aims to provide a contribution to the field of accounting and finance history with investigate mentioned document.
