dc.description.abstract | Nanotechnology has an important role in biomedical application, and thus, different nanoparticles have been designed for utilization in this area. Among them, metal nanoparticles (MNPs) have excellent properties and potentials. Their performance can be improved by immobilizing them on a suitable support. Biopolymers can be used in different medical applications such as drug delivery, wound healing, bioimaging, tissue engineering, and sensing with respect to their biodegradability, biocompatibility, and other different properties. They also can be ideal supports for the fabrication of different types of MNPs. This chapter explains some examples of biopolymer-based (nano)materials and their biomedical applications. | |
