dc.description.abstract	Kökenleri yirminci yüzyılın başlarına dek uzanan kurumcu iktisat, insan davranışının veiktisadi faaliyetin şekillenmesinde alışkanlık, içgüdü, inanç ve irade gibi temel kavramlar üzerindedurmakta ve kurumların rolünü vurgulamaktadır. Bu durum bilhassa John R. Commons ve Wesley C.Mitchell’de oldukça belirgindir. Neoklasik iktisat teorisine bütünüyle karşı çıkmayan Commons veMitchell, bu analizin, kurumsal ve kültürel unsuların rolünü göz ardı ettiğini belirtmektedirler. Buçalışmanın amacı da, kurumcu iktisadın kurucuları arasında yer alan Commons ve Mitchell’in “iktisat”ve “insan” anlayışları üzerinde durmak ve kurumsal ve kültürel unsuların hem bireysel davranış hemde iktisadi sistem açısından rolüne yaptıkları vurguyu gözler önüne sermektir.
dc.description.abstract	The institutional economics which is established in the beginnings of twentieth century stresses such basic concepts as habit, instinct, belief and volition in shaping the human behavior and economic activity and emphasises the role of institutions. This point is especially apparent in John R. Commons and Wesley C. Mitchell. Not completely objecting neoclassical economic theory, Commons and Mitchell stated that this analysis ignored the role of institutional and cultural elements. This paper aims to elaborate the conceptions of “economics” and “individual” of Commons and Mitchell and demonstrate their emphasis on the role of institutional and cultural elements with regard to both individual behavior and economic system.
