| dc.description.abstract | Manisa’nın Soma ilçesindeki kömür madeninde 2014’te çıkan yangın sonucunda 301 maden işçisinin hayatını kaybetmesi, tüm Türkiye’yi derinden etkileyen ve toplumsal hafızada iz bırakan felaketlerden biri olmuştur. Bu araştırmada 21.yüzyıl çağdaş Türk ressamlarından Himmet Gümrah’ın yaşanan bu elim olayı özgün dili ve sanatsal duyarlılığı ile betimlediği “Soma İçin” adlı yapıtı, sanatsal ve estetik açıdan incelenmiştir. İncelemede, E.B. Feldman tarafından karakterize edilen Sanat Eleştirisi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bu yöntem betimleme, çözümleme, yorumlama ve yargı olmak üzere dört safhadan oluşmaktadır. Araştırma sonunda eserdeki sanat elemanlarının resimsel bir unsur olmanın ötesinde varlık, yokluk ve ölüm gibi temalara gönderme yaptığı; özellikle sanatçıya özgü çakırdikeni formlarından her birinin aynı zamanda madencileri temsilen kullanıldığı anlaşılmıştır. Varlık ve yokluk kavramlarının sorgulanmasına bağlı olarak da yaşam döngüsü ve yaşamın devamlılığına dair bakış açısı, resmin diğer motifleri arasında sayılmıştır. Eser sembolik dilinden dolayı anlatımcılık, geometrik kurgusuna bağlı olarak biçimcilik ve yansıttığı evrensel mesajla da işlevsellik teorilerine yakın bulunmuştur. Ayrıca sanatçı, sanat biçemi açısından “bireysel” veya “geometriksembolist” bir üslup içerisinde değerlendirilmiştir. | |
| dc.description.abstract | The death of 301 mineworkers as a result of a fire at the coal mine in the district of Soma in the province of Manisa in 2014 is one of the disasters that deeply affected the whole of Turkey, leaving mark on public memory. In this study, the work entitled in “For Soma” by Himmet Gümrah, one of the contemporary Turkish painters of the 21st century, described this tragic event with its original language and artistic sensibility, was examined from an artistic and aesthetic point of view. In the analysis, the method of Art Criticism characterized by E. B. Feldman was utilized. This method consists of four phases: Description, analysis, interpretation and judgment. At the end of the study, it is recognized that the art elements in the work are not only a pictorial element, but also refer to themes such as existence, nonexistence and death; each of the yellow star-thistle forms specific to the artist is also used to represent miners. Depending on the questioning of the concepts of existence and nonexistence, the perspective on the life cycle and the continuity of life is considered among the other motifs of the work. The work is found to be close to the theories of expressionism due to its symbolic language, formalism due to its geometric structure, and functionality due to its universal message. Finally, the style of the artist is evaluated as “individualist” or “geometricsymbolist” in terms of art style. | |
