Objective: This study was conducted to determine the relationship between sleep quality and the frailty in the elderly who are hospitalized. Material and Method: This descriptive and cross sectional study was conducted on 186 elderly patients who were hospitalized in the internal and surgical clinics of Aksaray State Hospital between 01 July-30 December 2016. The data of the study were collected using the identification informa-tion form prepared by the researchers and the Edmonton Fragility Scale (EFS) and the Visual Analog Sleep Scale (VAS Scale). The data of the study were evaluated using descriptive statistical methods and Pearson correlation test. Results: The mean ages of the elderly individuals participating in the study were 72.02 ± 6.72 years and 57.5% were female. It was determined that 84.4% of elderly persons had sleeping problem during their hospitalisation period. The EFS point average of the elderly individuals who have partici-pated in the study was 8.18±3.4 and VAS Scale point average was 529.03±206.05 b and 27.4% of them were found as severely fragile, while 19.9% were slightly fragile and 19.4% of them were found as medium fragile. When the relationship between the fragility and sleep quality of the elderly individuals were determined EFS and VAS Sacele point revealed average positive correlation (p =0.034, r =0.155). Conclusion: In our study, it was determined that elderly people had poor sleep quality and that the sleep quality decreases with increased fragility.
