Covid-19 salgınında çocuk olmak:gelişim dönemlerine göre sosyal hizmet gereksinimleri ve öneriler

Covid-19 salgını ile birlikte çocuklar; sokağa çıkma yasağı, ebeveynlerle geçirilen sürenin değişmesi, okulların tatil ilan edilmesi, sınavların ertelenmesi, online eğitime geçiş, arkadaş ilişkilerinin kesintiye uğraması gibi pek çok yeni durumla karşı karşıya kalmışlardır. Yeni ve olağanüstü bu durumlar, çocukları pek çok açıdan farklı boyutlarda ve düzeylerde etkilemiştir. Bu çalışmada çocuk, 18 yaş altındaki bireyleri ifade etmektedir. Ancak 18 yaş altını kapsayan çocukluk çağının, tek bir dönem olarak ele alınması, genellemeci bir bakış açısına ve dolayısıyla çocukların bu salgın sürecindeki sorunlarının ve gereksinimlerinin indirgemeci bir yaklaşımla açıklanmasına neden olabilir. Çocukların bu süreçten nasıl ve hangi düzeyde etkilendikleri, gelişim dönemleri ile yakından ilişkilidir. Buradan hareketle mevcut derleme çalışmada çocukların içinde bulundukları gelişim dönemlerinin, Covid-19 salgınından etkilenme sürecinde önemli bir belirleyici olduğu varsayılmaktadır. Böylece çalışmanın temel amacı; Covid-19 salgını sürecinde çocukların yaşayabilecekleri sorunları, Erikson’un Psikososyal Gelişim Kuramı ve Piaget’in Bilişsel Gelişim Kuramı’nda yer alan gelişimsel dönemlere göre inceleyerek sosyal hizmet gereksinimlerini açıklamaktır. Bu çalışma sonucunda çocukların yaşadığı sorunlar ve gereksinimler ışığında sosyal hizmet müdahalelerinin önemi vurgulanmaktadır.Covid-19 salgınında çocukların sosyal hizmet gereksinimlerinin gelişim dönemleri odağında değerlendirilmesi ve bu gereksinimler temelindeki sosyal hizmet müdahaleleri, özellikle çocuk refahı alanındaki sosyal hizmet uzmanlarına rehberlik edebilir. Ayrıca hala yaşanan Covid-19 salgını sürecinde çocukların yaşayabilecekleri sorunlara yönelik alınabilecek önlemlere ve politikalara da rehberlik etme potansiyeli taşıması açısından bu çalışma önemlidir.

With the Covid-19 pandemic, children have faced with many new situations such as curfews,changing time spent with the parents, the schools being on holiday, postponing exams, transition to onlineeducation, interruption in friend relationships. These new and extraordinary situations have affected childrenin different dimensions and levels. In this study, the child refers to individuals under the age of 18. However,considering the childhood under the age of 18 as a single period may lead to a generalist perspective andtherefore to explain the problems and needs of children in this pandemic process with a reductionist approach.How and at what level children are affected by this process is closely related to their developmental stages.Based on this, in this review study, it is assumed that the developmental stages of children are an importantdeterminant in the process of being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, the main purpose of the studyis; to explain the social work needs by examining the problems that children may experience during the Covid 19 pandemic process according to the developmental periods included in Erikson's Psychosocial DevelopmentTheory and Piaget's Cognitive Development Theory. As a result of this study, the importance of social workinterventions is emphasized in the light of the problems and needs experienced by children. In the Covid-19pandemic, the evaluation of children's social work needs in the focus of their developmental stages and socialwork interventions based on these needs can guide social workers, especially in the field of child welfare. Inaddition, this study is important because it has the potential to guide the measures and policies that can be takenagainst the problems that children may experience during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
