Green hydrogen, which is produced from renewable energy sources has emerged as a significant alternative for the purpose of decarbonizing problematic industries and reducing emissions of greenhouse gases. The purpose of this chapter is to investigate recent developments in the generation of environmentally friendly hydrogen through the utilization of a wide range of technologies, such as solar, wind, ocean thermal energy conversion systems and other energy sources. This chapter provides an in-depth analysis of the primary policies that have been implemented by various countries. In this study, we investigate the current trends in research, the important obstacles that have been encountered, and the future prospects. We emphasize the importance of continuous innovation and collaboration in order to fully realize the potential of green hydrogen in the context of the global energy transition. A shift to hydrogen is a significant energy problem that should be adopted across a variety of industries in the future, according to this study, which highlights the importance of this transition.
