Özet
Fotoğraf makinası icat edildikten sonra, fotoğraf makinasının bir anlatım aracı olarak kullanılabileceği fikri ile fotoğrafçılığın gelişimi devam etmiştir. Fotoğraf, gelişim sürecinden günümüze kadar bir kanıt olarak görev yaparak görsel bir hafıza oluşturmaktadır. Özellikle yazılı basında fotoğraf kullanımı, 17. yüzyıldan günümüze kadar en önemli iletişim aracı olarak bugün hem geleneksel hem de internet gazeteciliğinde yerini ve değerini korumaktadır. Bunun önemli bir sebebi, fotoğrafların haberi görsel olarak da iletebilmesidir. Fotoğraflar, okuyucunun haberi daha iyi anlamasını, olayları aklında canlandırabilmesini sağlamaktadır ve haberi birkaç fotoğraf ile özetleyebilmektedir. Aslında fotoğraflar yazıyı, yazı da fotoğrafları destekleyerek muhteşem bir uyumla etkinliğini artırmaktadır. Bazen de bir fotoğraf tek başına sayfalar dolusu yazıdan daha etkili olabilmektedir. İnsanlar pek çok sebeple fotoğraf çekerler; hatıralar oluşturmak, düşünceleri yaymak, doğa ve hayvanlar âleminin gizli yönlerini görmek, göstermek, gizli bilgiler elde etmek, hoş vakit geçirmek, gezilen yerleri belgelemek vb. Burada önemli olan, bu sebeplerin hepsi bir anlatım yöntemi olarak fotoğrafı kullanmaktadır ve içinde fotoğrafçının görme biçimi bulunmaktadır. Bu makalenin amacı, fotoğrafın, fotoğrafçının önemini ortaya koymak, tarihinden itibaren fotoğrafçılık ile ilgili bilgi vermek ve fotoğrafın iletişimsel güçlerini ifade etmektir.
After the invention of the camera, the development of photography continued with the idea that the camera could be used as a means of expression. Photography serves as a proof from the developmental process to the present day, creating a visual memory. In particular, the use of photography in the print media has maintained its place and value in both traditional and internet journalism as the most important communication tool from the 17th century to the present day. An important reason for this is that the photographs can also convey the news visually. The photographs allow the reader to better understand the news and visualize events. In addition, the photo can summarize the news with a few photos. In fact, photographs support writing and writing enhances its effectiveness in a perfect harmony. Sometimes a photo can be more effective than a single page of text. People take pictures for many reasons; to create memories, to spread thoughts, to see the hidden aspects of the world of nature and animals, to show, to obtain confidential information, to have a pleasant time, to document the places visited and so on. What is important here is that all of these reasons use photography as a method of expression and include the way the photographer sees it. The aim of this literature review/compilation is to reveal the importance of photography in general and the communicative power of photography.
