Abstract
Bu araştırmada; kronik obstrüktif akciğer hastalarında sağlık okuryazarlığı ve başarılı yaşlanma arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmaya, Sağlık Bilimleri Üniversitesi Ankara Atatürk Sanatoryum Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi'ne başvuran kronik obstrüktif akciğer hastalığına sahip 204 birey dahil edilmiştir. Bireylere "Kişisel Bilgi Formu", "Türkiye Sağlık Okuryazarlığı Ölçeği-32" ve "Başarılı Yaşlanma Ölçeği" yüz yüze görüşme tekniği kullanılarak uygulanmıştır. Araştırma verileri SPSS 25.0 programı ile değerlendirilmiş ve gruplar arası karşılaştırmalarda Mann Whitney U ve Kruskal Wallis Testleri, anlamlılık yaratan grupların bulunması amacıyla Dunn-Bonferroni post hoc testi ve ölçek puanları arasındaki ilişkilere Spearman Rho Korelasyon katsayısı ile hesaplanmıştır. Çalışmada katılımcıların yaş ortalaması 67±5, %76,5'i erkek, %94,6'sı evli, %48'i emekli, %67,6'sı sigara/tütün kullanmakta ve %83,6'sının ek hastalığa sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir.
In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between health literacy and successful ageing in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The study included 204 individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease who applied to Health Sciences University Ankara Atatürk Sanatorium Training and Research Hospital. "Personal Information Form", "Turkey Health Literacy Scale-32" and "Successful Ageing Scale" were administered to the individuals using face-to-face interview technique. The research data were evaluated with SPSS 25.0 programme and Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis Tests were used for intergroup comparisons, Dunn-Bonferroni post hoc test was used to find significant groups and Spearman Rho Correlation coefficient was used to calculate the relationships between scale scores. The mean age of the participants was 67±5 years, 76.5% were male, 94.6% were married, 48% were retired, 67.6% were smokers/tobacco users and 83.6% had comorbidities. The mean total score of the Turkey Health Literacy Scale-32 was 97.99±17.06 and the mean score of the Successful Ageing Scale was 51.38±20.79 in the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients who participated in the study. According to the scale score results of the participants, the level of health literacy and successful ageing were calculated at a good level. It was determined that there was a statistically significant, positive, moderate relationship between the total mean scores of the Turkey Health Literacy Scale and the Successful Ageing Scale. It was found that as the health literacy score of individuals increased, the level of successful ageing also increased. As a result of the study, it was determined that health literacy was associated with successful ageing in individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
