In this study, it was aimed to compare the advantages and disadvantages of ultrasonography (TFAST) and radiography, which are used as a diagnostic method in traumatic and non-traumatic situations. 10 cats of different ages and genders were used in the study. Generally, cats with respiratory problems such as dyspnea were quickly examined with ultrasonography from five different points. In radiography, radiographs were quickly taken and examined in at least two different positions such as right lateral (RL), dorsoventral (DV), and ventrodorsal (VD), without stressing the animals as much as possible. With these imaging methods, problems such as abnormalities in the rib cage, pleural effusion, pneumothorax, pulmonary edema, diaphragmatic integrity and cardiovascular problems have been tried to be revealed. These methods were compared and evaluated in terms of quickly examining patients with life-threatening conditions, making an accurate diagnosis, and providing the necessary answers to clinical questions. Although it depends on operator experience, TFAST scans have been shown to be superior in obtaining better images and making a diagnosis in cases. However, when studied together with radiographic findings, much more effective results were observed. Therefore, it is recommended to use both imaging techniques together.
