Abstract
In this study, the hormonal effects in rats caused by intraperitoneal administration of sodium pyrithione (35 and 70 mg/kg, ip) and saline (0.09% NaCl 0.5 ml/kg, ip) for 24 and 96 hours were investigated. As a result of the research, it was found that sodium pyrithione caused regulation of hormonal adaptation in rats. Sodium pyrithione was metabolized 85-95% within 4 days at all dosage levels and was excreted in the urine. It has been demonstrated that this may be the reason why ACTH and corticosterone levels return to normal after 96 hours.
