Avrupa’da aşırı sağ politikaların yükselişi ve göçmen sorununun avrupa medyasına yansıması

| dc.description.abstract | Avrupa’da yükselen aşırı sağ partiler ve onların göçmenler üzerinden ürettikleri politikalar son dönemlerin popüler konusu olarak tartışılmaya devam etmektedir. Covid-19 sonrası küresel anlamda yaşanan ekonomik sıkıntılar, ülkelerin göçmenlere yönelik kararlarını gözden geçirmelerine sebep olmuştur. Bu süreçte, aşırı sağ partilerin göçmen karşıtı argümanlarını destekleyen tutumları medyanın da gündemine girmiştir. Bu çalışma, Avrupa medyasının aşırı sağ partilerin göçmenlere ilişkin politikalarını nasıl yansıttığı ve hangi çerçevelerle ele aldığını incelemektedir. Bu amaçla aşırı sağ partilerin iktidara ortak oldukları ülkelerden İtalya’dan Libero Quotidiano ve Hollanda’dan De Telegraaf gazeteleri örneklem olarak belirlenmiştir. 1 Kasım 2023 ve 31 Ocak 2024 tarihleri arasında bu iki gazetenin 107 haber fotoğrafı üzerinden göçmenleri yansıtma biçimleri içerik analizi ve görsel çerçeveleme yöntemi ile belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmaya konu edilen kategorilerde her iki gazetenin haber görselleri ve haber görsel çerçevelerinde göçmenlerin olumsuz bir şekilde yansıtıldığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Küresel anlamda yükselen milliyetçilik söylemlerinin arka planında medyayla desteklenen göçmen karşıtı haberlerin etkili olduğu bulgusuna erişilmiştir. | |
| dc.description.abstract | The rising far-right parties in Europe and their policies on immigrants continue to be discussed as a popular topic in recent times. The economic difficulties experienced globally after COVID-19 have caused countries to review their decisions regarding immigrants. In this process, the attitudes of far-right parties that support their anti-immigrant arguments have also entered the agenda of the media. This study analyses how the European media reflects and frames the policies of far-right parties regarding immigrants. For this purpose, Italy's Libero Quotidiano and the Netherlands' De Telegraaf newspapers were selected as samples from the countries where far-right parties are partners in power. Between November 1, 2023, and January 31, 2024, 107 news photographs of these two newspapers were used to determine the ways of reflecting immigrants through content analysis and the visual framing method. It was concluded that immigrants were negatively reflected in the news images and news visual frames of both newspapers in the categories subject to the research. It has also been found that anti-immigrant news supported by the media is effective in the background of rising nationalism discourses in a global sense. | |
