Finansal Derinleşmenin Türk Sigorta Sektörü ile Katılım Sigortacılığına Etkileri

| dc.description.abstract | Finansal piyasaların önemli aktörlerinden olan sigortacılık son yıllarda Türkiye’de hızla gelişen sektörler arasında yer almaktadır. Bu gelişmeye bağlı olarak sektörü etkileyen faktörlerin analiz edilmesi önemli bir husustur. Bu faktörlerden biri ise finansal derinleşmedir. Finansal derinleşmenin birçok sektörde olduğu gibi sigortacılık sektörü üzerinde de olumlu bir etkisinin olduğu düşünülmektedir. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, panel veri analizi yöntemi kullanarak Türk sigorta sektörü ve katılım sigorta sektörü üzerinde finansal derinleşmenin etkisini incelemektir. Bunun yanında gsyh (gayri safi yurtiçi hasıla), enflasyon, reel faiz oranları, bankacılık sektörü aktif büyüklüğü, sosyal güvenlik harcamaları ve dış ticaret hacmi değişkenlerinin de sektör üzerindeki etkisi ele alınmıştır. 2009Q4-2023Q1 dönemlerine ait verilerin ele alındığı analiz sonuçlarına göre finansal derinleşmenin sektörün gelişiminde olumlu bir katkı sağladığı görülmüştür. Ayrıca gsyh (gayri safi yurtiçi hasıla), reel faiz oranları ve bankacılık sektörü aktif büyüklüğü sigorta primlerini pozitif; enflasyonun ise negatif etkilediği tespit edilmiştir. Sosyal güvenlik harcamaları ve dış ticaret hacmi değişkenlerinin ise istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olmadığı görülmüştür. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Insurance, one of the significant players in financial markets, has been among the rapidly developing sectors in Turkey in recent years. Analyzing the factors that influence the sector's development is of great importance due to this growth. One important variable among these factors is financial deepening. It is believed that financial deepening has a positive impact on the insurance sector, as it does in many other sectors. In this context, the main objective of the study is to investigate the impact of financial deepening on the Turkish insurance sector and the participation insurance sector through panel data analysis. Additionally, the study examines the effects of variables such as gross domestic product (GDP), inflation, real interest rates, banking sector asset size, social security expenditures, and foreign trade volume on the sector. Based on the analysis using data from the period of 2009Q4 to 2023Q1, the results indicate that financial deepening has made a positive contribution to the sector's development. Furthermore, it has been observed that GDP, real interest rates, and banking sector asset size have a positive effect on insurance premiums, while inflation has a negative effect. However, social security expenditures and foreign trade volume variables were found to be statistically insignificant. | |
