Abstract
Bu çalışmada sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarındaki kazanım, konu ve görseller cinsiyet eşitliği çerçevesinde incelenmiş ve mevcut durum belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırma, 2021-2022 eğitim–öğretim yılında okutulan sosyal bilgiler ders kitaplarıyla sınırlandırılmıştır. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesi kapsamında, 4-5-6 ve 7. sınıftan toplam 7 adet ders kitapları incelenmiştir. Verilerin toplanmasında içerik analizi yapılmıştır. İncelenen ders kitaplarında bireylerin cinsiyetlere göre "kadın" ve "erkek" sözcüklerinin yer alma sıklığı, bireylerin cinsiyetlerine göre mesleklerde yer alma sıklığı, bireylerin cinsiyetlerine göre bilim insanı olarak yer alma sıklığı, bireylerin cinsiyetlerine göre görsellerde yer alma sıklığı, bireylerin diğer alanlarda yer alma sıklığı cinsiyet eşitliği çerçevesinde incelenmiştir. Çalışmada elde edilen bulgulara göre metin ve görsellerde erkeklerin niceliksel olarak daha çok görünür olduğu, mesleklerde kadınların genellikle belli meslek grupları içerisinde ve erkeklerden daha yer verildiği, kadın bilim insanlarının erkek bilim insanlarına göre daha az yer bulduğu görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak ders kitaplarında kadınların erkeklere göre daha az yer bulduğu tespit edilmiştir.
In this study, the achievements, topics and visuals in the social studies textbooks were examined within the framework of gender equality and the current situation was tried to be determined. The research is limited to the social studies textbooks taught in the 2021-2022 academic year. Within the scope of document review, which is one of the qualitative research methods, a total of 7 textbooks from 4-5-6 and 7th grades were examined. Content analysis was performed in data collection. In the textbooks examined, the frequency of the words "female" and "man" according to gender, the frequency of individuals taking part in occupations according to their gender, the frequency of individuals taking place as scientists according to their gender, the frequency of individuals taking place in visuals according to their gender, the frequency of individuals taking place in professions according to their gender, The frequency of participation in the fields was examined within the framework of gender equality. According to the findings obtained in the study, it has been seen that men are quantitatively more visible in texts and images, women are generally included in certain occupational groups and more than men in professions, and female scientists find less space than male scientists. As a result, it has been determined that women find less place in textbooks than men.
