Sağlık, ekonomik ve yaşam beklentisi çıktılarının işsizlik oranı üzerindeki etkisi: Ab ülkeleri ve Türkiye

| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışma, Avrupa Birliği (AB) ülkeleri ve Türkiye için 2014-2021 döneminde sağlık, ekonomik ve yaşam beklentisi çıktılarının işsizlik oranı üzerindeki etkilerini analiz etmektedir. Çalışmanın amacı, bu değişkenlerin işsizlik oranlarıyla ilişkisini dinamik bir perspektifle incelemektir. Arellano-Bover ve Blundell-Bond tarafından geliştirilen Sistem Genelleştirilmiş Momentler Yöntemi (Sistem GMM) kullanılarak yapılan analiz, özellikle doğumda yaşam beklentisinin işsizlik oranını azaltıcı etkisini ve yurt içi genel hükümet sağlık harcamalarının işsizlik oranını artırıcı etkisini ortaya koymaktadır. GSYH büyüme oranının işsizlik oranı üzerindeki etkisi ise anlamlı bulunmamıştır. Çalışma, sağlık harcamalarının ve yaşam beklentisinin iş gücü piyasaları üzerindeki doğrudan ve dolaylı etkilerini kapsamlı bir şekilde ele almasıdır. Literatürde sağlık, ekonomik ve yaşam beklentisi göstergelerinin birlikte değerlendirildiği çalışma sayısı sınırlı olup bu araştırma COVID-19 pandemisinin etkilerini de hesaba katarak özgün bir katkı sunmaktadır. Aynı zamanda, sağlık harcamalarının verimli kullanımı, iş gücü katılımını destekleyici sosyal politikalar ve ekonomik büyüme stratejilerinin iyileştirilmesini sağlamaktadır. Özellikle kriz dönemlerinde işsizliği önleyici esnek politika yaklaşımları önem taşımaktadır. Ayrıca, sağlık ve ekonomik politikaların bütüncül bir şekilde ele alınması, iş gücü piyasalarındaki olumsuz etkilerin minimize edilmesini sağlamaktadır. | |
| dc.description.abstract | This study analyzes the effects of health, economic and life expectancy outcomes on the unemployment rate for European Union (EU) countries and Turkey for the period 2014-2021. The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between these variables and unemployment rates from a dynamic perspective. The analysis using the System Generalized Method of Moments (System GMM) developed by Arellano-Bover and Blundell-Bond reveals the decreasing effect of life expectancy at birth on the unemployment rate and the increasing effect of domestic general government health expenditures on the unemployment rate. The effect of GDP growth rate on the unemployment rate is not significant. The study is a comprehensive analysis of the direct and indirect effects of health expenditures and life expectancy on labor markets. There is a limited number of studies in the literature where health, economic and life expectancy indicators are evaluated together, and this study makes a unique contribution by taking into account the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, the efficient use of health expenditures enables the improvement of social policies and economic growth strategies that support labor force participation. Flexible policy approaches to prevent unemployment are especially important in times of crisis. Moreover, a holistic approach to health and economic policies helps to minimize the negative effects on labor markets. | |
