Öğe Artificial intelligence for sustainable human resource management(CRC Press, 2024) Uğuz Arsu, ŞerifeToday’s industry is undergoing rapid transformation because of the rapidly growing digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI)-based solutions. With this transformation, developments in intelligent automation, for example, the digitalizing world, robotic systems, information technology, big data, and artificial intelligence, which create new problems that businesses will face, affect human resources management applications and processes. This makes it necessary to develop capabilities that can fight with all competitors in the world whose borders are removed thanks to the internet to gain competitive advantage. Simple and routine processes are becoming increasingly automated, while nonsimple processes are becoming more complex. Therefore, both competencies of the existing workforce should be increased, and the enterprises should gain competitive advantage to survive in the long term. For this reason, the development of human resources strategies that will support the general strategy of the enterprises emerges as a strategic necessity. At this point, in the age of AI starting with Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0, it is of great importance how to ensure sustainable human resources management and how human resources departments and policies will be affected by these changes. In addition, with the technological developments experienced, it is based on a human- and environment-oriented approach for social, environmental, and economic sustainability to better meet industrial and technological targets without compromising socioeconomic conditions and environmental performance.Öğe Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Green Fashion Industry(CRC Press, 2024) Dhama, Aditi; Kaur, Avneet; Sipahi Döngül, Esra; Singh, NehaCOVID-19 has been a wake-up call to recognize that the economy, environment, and human health are intrinsically linked. We are already seeing a shift in mentality to reduce production and demonstrate more environmental awareness. The global fashion industry is expected to grow from $1.5 trillion in 2020 to approximately $2.25 trillion by 2025, indicating continued growth in demand. New technological developments are used for transition to a green economy and to promote an environmentally conscious fashion movement. Artificial intelligence (AI) has become an integral part of the fashion industry, which is often an accelerator of waste. AI will lead to significant waste reduction through sales prediction and clothing trends; increase in customer experience; and decrease in the number of unsold clothes each season through materials, products, and consumer experiences. It allows manufacturers to redefine the way fashion companies engage and interact with their customers. Customers are now becoming aware of utilizing the AI-enabled features while browsing or purchasing clothing or fashion accessories online. Customers can take a photo and match the accessories and garments to the brands to acquire the same design. Additionally, it also reduces the errors and speeds up the product delivery process through automated warehouse management. Using AI, decisions in the fashion industry can be implemented quickly and efficiently, and all processes within the fashion industry can be fully planned without insignificant costs and pollution. The effect of AI on fashion will make this industry smarter and smarter in understanding customers’ feelings and fashion tastes.Öğe Predictive innovation management using data analytics and machine learning(Emerald Group Publishing Ltd., 2024) Kalu, Chikezie Kennedy; Döngül, Esra SipahiInnovation is a multi-dimensional phenomenon influenced at the organisational level by internal and external factors that can determine how innovative an organisation can be, determining a firmüs business performance. This chapter measures and predicts how innovative a company can be, considering key internal factors using modern data analytics/science. Need for Study: The increasing challenge of modern business operations is affected by how quickly, sustainably, effectively, and efficiently companies can innovate to mitigate the dynamic challenges of current business environments and evolving customer needs. The ability to predict, measure, and manage innovation becomes necessary to ensure that businesses are fit for purpose. Methodology: A model was designed following the study hypotheses and statistically tested. A historical data sample from the OECD global industry dataset for eight years was used for the analysis. The ordinary least square method was used to test for model fit. Also, in machine learning engineering, predictive analysis using the multivariate linear regression analysis method was carried out. Findings: The results support the hypotheses that an organisationüs capacity to be innovative can be measured and predicted, and it is influenced by a good number of internal factors or independent variables at various degrees. Practical Implications: Managers must understand how to measure and predict innovation metrics to manage innovation better, ultimately leading to better business outcomes and performance. Also proposed are new measurement matrices for innovation management: innovation capacity (IC), business innovation value (BIV), innovation creation factor (ICF), and a practical data-driven innovation management and prediction system.Öğe Carbon neutrality orientation and carbon neutral cities(Elsevier, 2023) Ul-Durar, Shajara; Döngül, Esra Sipahi; Jabbar, AbdulThis chapter discusses the importance of carbon neutrality with regard to carbon-neutral cities to achieve net zero targets so that global warming can be reduced. The studies confirm that human beings cause global warming, but luckily, there is hope that humans can control it by taking positive steps. To achieve this target, several countries have pledged to become carbon neutral till 2050 so that the world can be saved from the detrimental effects of global warming. Countries globally are taking initiatives by making laws such as putting controls and restrictions on industries and sectors to reduce carbon emissions. It is crucial that businesses must take measures to reduce their carbon footprint for enhanced environmental management. All this needs careful planning to maintain sustainable economic growth. The chapter will also look into the example of Turkey, becoming a carbon-neutral city where all societal segments play a role in reducing carbon emissions.Öğe Robots and spirituality in the workplace(Emerald Publishing, 2023) Döngül, Esra SipahiThe relationship between robots and spirituality in the workplace is an interesting and evolving area of research that could provide important insights into the role of technology in promoting human well-being and personal growth. Robots are becoming increasingly common in the workplace and their functions in the business world are increasing. The use of robots in the workplace can affect people's spiritual values. Spiritual values such as being successful in their work, providing a sense of purpose and satisfaction, and feeling valued and important are important. The use of robots in the workplace may cause some people to take over many of the tasks that their jobs once did. In this case, employees may feel that their work no longer makes sense and may experience a loss of motivation. The fact that robots don't need the skills and experience of humans can make people feel inadequate in their jobs. However, the use of robots in the workplace can also support people's spiritual values. When robots work with humans, they have responsibilities such as interacting with them, showing empathy, respecting coworkers, and treating humans appropriately. This is important for people's mental and emotional health in the workplace. This approach will help people in the workplace work successfully and happily with robots. The use of robots in the workplace raises moral and ethical questions. In this section, research on the production of artificial intelligence-equipped robots and other intelligent technological machines and their use in organizations is evaluated within the framework of spirituality.Öğe Good Management and Deploying New IT Tools in Industry 4.0 in the Value- Creating Direction(Taylor and Francis, 2023) Ahmadov, Elshan; Sipahi Döngül, Esra; Ul-Durar, ShajaraIn this chapter, we analyze the role of digital technologies in management in a value-creating direction. Digital technologies are rudimentary to solving significant challenges. Good management and entrepreneur adopt increasingly connected and integrated solutions. There is also a growing need to strengthen IT protections and build resilience networks. Modern technologies such as big data analytics, the industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), cloud computing, and blockchain ensure robotized activities. Integrating digital tools in every society by using them in our lives and proposing the implementation of these tools will contribute to increasing the level of social welfare by bringing along many benefits.
