Öğe Covid-19 sürecinde obezite ve fiziksel aktivite ilişkisi(Aksaray Üniversitesi, 2021) Atalay, AhmetMany countries around the world have implemented very strict quarantine rules due to the Covid-19 outbreak. It say that, the most important of these rules is the curfew and restrictions. Due to these restrictions, the physical activity durations of people have decreased considerably and their sedentary behavior has increased significantly. While quarantine rules make it possible to fight the epidemic, on the other hand, increasing sedentary behaviors lay the groundwork for a different social health problem. This health problem is obesity, which is defined as the second deadliest disease by the World Health Organization. Because sedentary lifestyle is accepted as one of the main causes of obesity. Although sedentary lifestyle is the source of many ailments, it also accelerates the increase of obesity, which is an important social health problem. Especially inactivity triggered by the epidemic process can be considered as the main source of the increase in obesity. Increasing sedentary living habits due to restrictions in the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic may cause a gradual increase in a deadly disease such as obesity after the epidemic. Regular physical activity is one of the most important tools in combating obesity and the diseases it causes and in reducing the risk of death. During and after the quarantine process, it is very important for physical and mental health to stay active and to develop and maintain a physical exercise routine. This study was carried out by utilizing the document analysis method within the framework of qualitative research techniques in a way that allows the analysis of written sources about the subject or topics studied. According to the results, it can be said that people's physical activities are restricted due to Covid-19, and consequently, unhealthy living habits increase. It is understood that this situation accelerates the obesity risk in societies. It is emphasized that physical activity and sports should be used effectively in the fight against obesity and its effects.
