Muhafazakârlık ve değişim: değişime direniş mi yoksa ihtiyatlı değişimi savunmak mı?

Abstract

Çalışmanın temel amacı muhafazakârlık ve değişim ilişkisini irdelemektir. Muhafazakâr düşünce ile değişim arasındaki ilişkiyi anlamlı değerlendirebilmek için öncelikle muhafazakârlık kavramı tanımlanmıştır. Burada muhafazakârlığın tanımlama güçlüğüne özellikle dikkat çekilmiştir. Daha sonra muhafazakâr düşüncenin epistemolojisi, toplum kavrayışı, bireyi ele alışı gibi konular üzerinden muhafazakârlık ve değişim konusu incelenmiştir. Çalışmada muhafazakârlığın değişimi hoş karşılamasa da değişim karşıtı olmadığı, buna karşın ihtiyatlı bir değişim taraftarı olduğu iddia edilmiştir.

The key objective of this study is to inquire about the relationship between conservatism and change. Firstly, the concept of conservatism is defined so as to evaluate the relationship between conservative thought and change meaningfully. At this point, the difficulty of defining conservatism is particularly underscored. Then, the subjects of conservatism and change are examined by means of the epistemology of conservatism, its notion of society and its treatment of individual. The study maintains that conservatism is not against change, albeit the fact that it doesn’t consider the change warmly but it embraces a prudent change.
