New and rare water beetles (Coleoptera: Haliplidae: Dytiscidae) for the fauna of Turkey

Abstract

New findings of the water beetles from the family Haliplidae and Dytiscidae from Turkey are given. Eight species are identified, five of which (Haliplus laminatus (SCHALLER, 1783); Agabus striolatus (GYLLENHAL, 1808); Rhantus grapii (GYLLENHAL, 1808); Graphoderus austriacus (STURM, 1834); Hydroporus angustatus STURM, 1835) are new for the fauna of Turkey; other three species (Haliphus heydeni WEHNCKE, 1875; Haliplus flavicollis STURM, 1834; Herophydrus musicus (KLUG, 1834)) are cited first with exact localities for the country. The known ranges of these species are expanded by the new findings.
