GC–MS, FT-IR, Elemental, 1H NMR and SEM analysis methods were used in the characterization of the products obtained at the end of the pyrolysis process. It has been determined that alkaline and acidic pretreatment increase the liquid product yield and also support the formation of high energy value biochar.
