Çalışmada araştırmacı tarafından derleme yoluyla elde edilen 11 masal ve kaynaklarda yer alan 17 masal; adalet, dostluk, dürüstlük, öz denetim, sabır, saygı, sorumluluk, vatanseverlik ve yardımseverlik kök değerleri çerçevesinde ele alınmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden mülakat(görüşme) yapılarak kaynak kişilerden yararlanma ve doküman incelemesi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. İncelenen masallarda Türkçe Öğretim Programı'nda yer alan kök değerlerin ne sıklıkta ve nasıl kullanıldığı belirlenmiştir. Masallarda en çok yardımseverlik kök değerinin, en az ise saygı ve vatanseverlik kök değerlerinin yer aldığı tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda Bilecik ili Söğüt ilçesinde sözlü gelenekte yer alan 28 masal tespit edilmiştir. Bu masalların kök değerler açısından zengin olduğu görülmüştür.In this study, the fairy tales told in Söğüt district of Bilecik province were examined in terms of root values in the Turkish Course Curriculum. In the study, 11 tales obtained through compilation by the researcher and 17 tales included in the sources; it is discussed within the framework of the root values of justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, responsibility, patriotism and helpfulness. In collecting data, qualitative research methods such as interviewing, using source people and document review were used. Content analysis method was used to analyze the data. It was determined how often and how the root values in the Turkish Curriculum were used in the tales examined. It has been determined that the root values of charity are the most present in the fairy tales, and the root values of respect and patriotism are the least. As a result of the study, 28 tales in the oral tradition were identified in the Söğüt district of Bilecik province.
