These contaminants belong to many groups including inorganics i.e., metal/metalloid ions or organic contaminants such as plastics, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs). Additionally, biological, and radiological agents must not be forgotten. These pollutants have many direct or indirect effects on the environment and human health. Therefore, there is a great need to remove these contaminants from the relevant areas. Removal methods of contaminants from the environment can vary depending on the nature, quantity and magnitude of pollutants. This chapter focuses on different type of contaminants which may cause adverse ecological and/or human health effects and their removal methods.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessBiological Treatment for ECChemical Treatment for ECECEmerging ContaminantEndocrine Disrupting ChemicalPhysical Treatment for ECPolycyclic Aromatic HydrocarbonAn insight into the potential contaminants, their effects, and removal meansBook--7510410.1016/B978-0-323-90912-9.00005-8N/A
