Bu çalışma, değişen ABD ideolojisinin Hollywood sinemasında nasıl ele alındığını tespit etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, değişen ideolojiler tespit edilmiş ve Hollywood sinemasında nasıl ve hangi kodlarla aktarıldığı söylem analizi yöntemiyle saptanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda analiz edilecek filmler United 93 (2006), World Trade Center (2006), The Reluctant Fundamentalist (2012), Zero Dark Thirty (2012), ve The Report (2019) olarak belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular, 11 Eylül terör saldırıları Amerika kadar Hollywood sinemasını da etkilemiştir. Teröre yönelik geliştiren ideoloji ve politika için saldırılar bir dönüm noktasıdır. Saldırılarla birlikte ortaya çıkan yeni ideolojiler saldırıların yarattığı hasarı azaltmak ve yıkılan ideolojiyi yeniden inşa etmek üzerine kurulmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda Hollywood sinemasında, vatanseverlik ve milliyetçilik, terörizm ve güvenlik ve bireysel mücadele gibi ideolojiler ortaya çıkmaktadır. Ayrıca var olan Amerikan rüyası, istisnaicilik, ötekileştirme, oryantalizm gibi ideolojiler dönüşerek yeni bir boyut kazanmaktadır. Bu değişimler Hollywood sinemasında karakter ve kimlik, mekan ve kurgusal dünya, diyalog ve söylem, teknik kodlar yardımıyla aktarılmaktadır.This research focuses on the representation of U.S. ideology in cinema after the 9/11 attacks. The study aims to identify how the changing U.S. ideology has been addressed in Hollywood cinema. It aims to identify how the changing U.S. ideology is represented in films after the 9/11 attacks. For this purpose, the changing ideologies have been identified and how they are conveyed in Hollywood cinema through discourse analysis has been determined.The films to be analyzed in this context are United 93 (2006), World Trade Center (2006), The Reluctant Fundamentalist (2012), Zero Dark Thirty (2012), and The Report (2019). The findings indicate that the 9/11 terrorist attacks affected Hollywood cinema as much as they did America. The attacks were a turning point for the ideology and policies developed against terrorism. The new ideologies emerging with the attacks are built on reducing the damage caused by the attacks and rebuilding the shattered ideology.In this context, ideologies such as patriotism and nationalism, terrorism and security, and individual struggle emerge in Hollywood cinema. Additionally, existing ideologies like the American Dream, exceptionalism, othering, and Orientalism evolve and gain a new dimension.
